I was incredibly excited to find this product… I had a slushie cup as a kid, and I have so many great memories of coming in from playing outside on a hot summer day and making a slushie with orange juice or soda. This product is a slightly different design than the one I remember, but it still does a fairly good job.This cup is made out of a flexible silicone on the outside, with inner chambers filled with freezing liquid. You will need to leave the cup in the freezer for a few hours until the liquid freezes before using it to make a slushie. Making the slushie is really easy – just pour in some liquid (juice, soda, sports drink, etc – it just needs to have some sugar), and gently squeeze the cup for a few minutes until a slushie forms. I’ve used it several times now, with a variety of drinks, and it consistently produces a great slushie!The main drawback of this product is the design. The way the inner chambers are formed creates some folds in the inner surface, so quite a bit of the slushie gets stuck inside and is hard to scrape out. Also, as the cup thaws, it’s not very stable. It’s fine if you’re holding it, but it seems liable to tip over if you set it down.This cup came with a few extras – a long-handled spoon/straw, and a clear plastic dome lid. These are cute, and remind me of getting slushies at convenience stores, but they don’t add a ton of value to the product in my opinion.I like this product and will keep using it, but will probably search for something with a better design if I decide to upgrade.
