I purchased this item as a Father’s day present.The drain hose is flimsy and had pin holes in it causing it to leak inside my wood cabinet. The company after being informed of the problem promised to send a new hose. To date I have neither received the hose nor heard from the company. Additionally, I hired a plumber to install the unit and unless you have plumbing for a drain you will be emptying the bucket at least 2-3 times a day. which is a sacrifice I don’t mine, because my husband loved the unit and it convenience for him. It also makes plenty of ice to bag for events, but if you are having a large party of 40 people or more you need to start bagging 2 weeks in advance. I still had to purchase ice for the 4th of July, but I had at least 140 people at my home.

Great Countertop Ice Maker
This machine is very quiet. The first large ice cubes were made in 8 minutes and the whole basket of large ice cubes took about 1 hour 45 minutes. It makes approximately 9 large cubes at a time. It does not get hot when making the ice. The ice cubes taste good. To empty the water, there is a plug inside which makes it easy to empty. It comes with a scooper which is convenient. I recommend this ice maker.

Started receiving error messages within 3 days of setting it up. It never produced 130 lbs of ice. And the storage bin would hold MAYBE 7 lbs at a time before the light indicated it was full. Returning.

The bin has no freezer so the ice melts constantly. The bin holds very little ice. It may hold a couple of pounds then the shutoff bar turns it off. Water drains constantly so it must be hooked up to a drain. If you are using the ice quickly it would be fine. If you want a lot of ice you need to bag it and put it in a feeezer or cooler. It does make ice fairly quickly.Probably fine for a small bar or a pool party.
