It really does work that well!
I was looking for reviews for a rotary grater like some restaurants use at the table- came across this instead and I’m so glad! It’s a cute color, if you care about stuff like that (I do). It stuck, I guess sunctioned, to the table easily and was just as easy to unstick. It was simple to put together using the very basic instructions, which have little photos. I used the grater drum for average-sized shreds of cheese. Now here’s where I was amazed: I needed to grate the very last part, almost the rind, of one of those Costco parmesan-reggiano wedges, which is almost like rock. The grater handled it so easily and so fast! I hate grating that stuff and this made it unbelievably easy. Using the piece that comes with it to push the food down onto the drum is key. It took about 90 seconds to disassemble it and wash it. I’m letting it air dry on the rack, then I plan to store it in the box it came in. I can’t speak to whether it’s durable, but I didn’t feel like it was any more likely to fall apart than a regular grater. Also have not tried the slicer drum yet. But so far, fantastic, highly recommend!

    So simple
I love this product, it is so easy to use, suctions great to the counter, and is easy to clean! The different types of shredding is awesome, perfect size! I purchased this in white, love the color!

Best seller for a reason it seems
Used it for the first time this morning to shred up some potatoes for my first ever try at homemade hash browns.Holy guacamole, I made so such! I couldn’t resist. Was so easy, kept throwing in potatoes until the receiving plate could hold no more.Heated up some avocado oil and butter, added in and browned the shredded potatoes, added some salt and fresh pepper… added sunny side up eggs, bacon and toast… ain’t no diner got nothin’ on my new morning fixation of by-my-own hand hash browns. So fresh, crispy and good!Impression of this unit from pre-cleaning, to use, to post-use cleaning – as it should be simple simple design, that feels well made and suited to lasting for quite a while so long it’s not abused.Easy cleaning after potato shredding. Guess is, cleaning after cheeses will be more involved, but the design is so simple am anticipating no big deal.Part of the secret to longevity with items like this, is don’t be foolish. If whatever you put in it is making it so you have to force the handle around with difficulty, then you’re inviting failure. The other smart thing, is to cut up into smaller slices what you stick in the neck to be grated/shredded. Just because the neck is like 2×2 inches (a guess), doesn’t mean you should be shoving in something that’s 1.99l inches by 1.99w inches.. The food your putting in can be tall (height), it’s about length/width.My suggestion is, keep what your shoving into the neck to about no more than half the size of the opening. It’s not about a testing it’s limits, it’s about using it wisely. There’s a bunch of other brands out there for similar price and features. I went with this one because of so many 5 star reviews along with it being a best seller, plus the listing had a 5 dollar coupon making it a no brainer. No more bagged shredded de-caking ingredient laden cheeses for my kitchen. Blocks of 100% cheese only.I’ll update this review after I shred up some block cheese, and a wedge or two of Parmesan/Romano. My prediction just based on instincts and experience regarding product design quality and materials durability is that of having more positive experiences. My sense is I’m going to have to keep myself from grating/shredding up more than I need just because it’s so easy compared to a stand up grater box.Should mention, I first went with a metal hand grater before deciding to spend a few dollars more for something like this. Those metal hand graters are for the birds. Returned mine. The plastic versions are just as bad only they’ll break faster.Having a pasta dinner, used to grating the cheese as needed? Don’t be silly. Get something like this. Grate up some before serving the meal, and have the grated stuff on the table in a small bowl or in a generic fill shaker. Now I need to get rid of the potatoes I have left before they go bad. Am sensing some homemade potato chips will be cooked up and on the counter by tomorrow sometime.Follow-Up: Block cheese is so much better (cheaper too) than bagged pre-shredded, and no sweat for this unit. 3lbs of block cheese in around 5 minutes, including set-up and sink cleaning.Hard cheese like Parmesan? No problem! You could shred up a entire wedge before the water for the pasta even thinks to boil – with zero skin loss due to the now obsolete hand graters.

    Really fast grater!
We really like that it grates very quickly and is easy to clean. The suction cup does not work well on our countertop though. Keeps coming lose and, of course, when that happens, the grater moves around and even falls over. It could be our formica countertop though. We still use it often as it’s otherwise great and would still recommend it to others.

Early days, but I am delighted with this gadget!
I got this yesterday and rinsed off the parts so I could use it today. First I powered through two 8 ounce blocks of cheese, then an 8 ounce block of chilled butter, then about 5 ounces of pecans. All of these items were needed for a recipe I’ve been putting off (except one block of cheese I shredded just to have it on hand). I have a Bosch multifunction stand mixer with a continuous shredder attachment but it’s a pain to use and a lot of waste product ends up stuck in the parts, so it never feels very labor-saving. I’d been considering something like this but they just look too good to be true, and I worried that my arthritis might make this uncomfortable to use. But I decided to go with it and I’m really glad I did.It all went very smoothly and even cleaning the parts in between for re-use on the next ingredient wasn’t too bad–next time I’ll plan ahead to be able to soak them in a bowl. The 2% cheese worked like a dream, the full fat cheddar was a bit gummier and more of it had to be teased out of the drum with a fork when I was done, but it shredded it all with very little cheese left over in the parts. The butter gummed up in the drum a little too, might have gone better if it had been frozen solid. But again, no unshredded lumps or lots of waste stuck in the parts. The pecans were no trouble at all.The suction held tight to the counter and was easy to engage/disengage. The parts fit together and came apart pretty easily even given that this was my first time learning to use it. The handle was easy to rotate and the thing I loved most of all was how quiet it was! Much quieter than the shredder attachment on my mixer, and much less to clean up afterwards as well. And much quieter than trying to break down nuts by pounding the bag on the counter with a rubber mallet like a chump. I had suitably low containers to grate this stuff into, but it occurred to me that when I finally get a nice undermount sink I’ll be able to lock it down at the sink edge and sit a bowl in the sink to shred large quantities into if I want.If this lasts a few years I will consider this money well spent. It seems well made for plastic. Looking forward to seeing how it works with veggies, like carrots and squash. But I mainly got it for grating cheese, and for that, it is a superstar.

This is a great kitchen gadget for saving time! I have loved using this in my kitchen while grating cheese and veggies! With the 3 attachments it really makes a lot of possibilities when using it! The suction lock is a great feature to avoid movement while in use making it even easier to use. Clean up is a breeze with the cleaning brush that is included as well! It’s a must have I have saved so much time while cooking.

Great at doing what it is to do but hard to get clean after using cheese very happy with this

  9. Rach

Does exactly what it says it’ll do, and makes quick work of whole vegetables and bars of cheese! Really happy with how much it’s helped with a usually tedious task. A bit hard to set up the first couple of times, but great after.

  10. Me

Very easy to use, love how quickly it shreds
