I have recently started to play Pickleball and noticed that not all balls are created equal. Especially the outdoor balls, but these have held up nicely and have lasted several rounds and are still in good shape.

Lively balls…comparable to Onix
These are marketed as outdoor balls and I’m told they fit the bill. They do indeed have 40 holes, which is standard for outdoor balls. My only point of comparison has been Onix and the holes are more or less the exact same size.I dropped this next to my Onix ball and they bounced to an identical height. The orange color is different from the Onix yellow but doesn’t bother me a bit. I see orange balls around plenty and these are no different.The difference I noticed versus the Onix was that the Yotiger made a slightly higher sound on impact with the same racket, sounding crisper but a little thinner. The Onix ball gives a little more to a finger squeeze, which makes some sense given the sound disparity. I’m not an experienced enough player to notice any difference in performance.One thing to note is that I picked up a Yotiger paddle a bit ago. It’s most likely a knock off of some name brand paddle but it’s good quality; people borrow it and want to hang on to it. Same with these balls; they’re a quality pickup.

These seem just fine to me, but all the old, pretentious pickleballers at the court gave me a bunch of grief about these not being outdoor balls because the holes are too big. Yet the box on these literally says âoutdoorâ. So what gives?
