    Best Value for Pickleball Lessons
Looking at the author’s picture on the back of his book and “hearing” his entertaining, lighthearted, authoritative voice come through in his written words makes me wish I could meet him someday. If I did, I would probably bore him with my tales of how his book’s lessons have helped me raise my game. I keep thinking, “I couldn’t get this level and quantity of instructional insight for a hundred times the low cost of this book.” I predict that you’ll soon be seeing the “Amazon Best Seller” banner on “Winning Pickleball.” Also, keep an eye out for author David Satka in the media. You’ll be seeing and hearing about him.I won’t get into the specific techniques that David uses (so far) to raise my game, but perhaps his key, overall approach comes from his phrase: “Think your way to better pickleball.” I’m a former collegiate and tournament tennis player who remembers the psychological warfare of countless matches. I understand that the biggest weapon we carry onto the court is not in our backpacks; it’s inside our head: our brain. In his affable wisdom, David conducts an ongoing cerebral seminar across his pages and shows us how to apply a rational thought process while playing, rather than merely banging away, hoping for the best. His approach is not magic; it’s shrewd, applied common sense, an element sorely lacking in our world today, especially on the court. From a production standpoint, I find this book to be a true, practical teaching manual. The font is easy on the eyes and there are none of the usual, tedious pictures that can’t possibly help us master, for example, a two-hands cross-court dink. After all, there are a zillion YouTube videos for that … and maybe someday we’ll get to see David deploy his own series of videos based on his book. Finally, you may be thinking, “Well, I just play pickleball to have fun and socialize with my friends. I don’t care about winning.” Okay, why keep score, then? You may be surprised to find out how good it feels to “out dink” one of your buddies or discover how to find a new player’s weakness, which you can exploit for a key point. This book can improve your play and enhance your fun factor at the same time. Who knows? There may be a great competitor lurking inside you that’s just waiting to be released.

    Entertaining and informative
A must read for beginners, intermediate, and even advanced players looking to improve their game. Very well written mixing practical knowledge with humor. First time I ever read a book in one sitting – it kept my attention from the first to the last chapter.

great book, that makes you think, and win
touches on many aspects of the game that may go overlookedsomething in if for everyone, and a great read that flowsnever gets bogged down or boringcan read in two or three sessions, and i don’t like many booksintuitive stuff that goes a long way

Nothing new here so 3 stars
The positive: This book has key information all in one location. This book will be great for those just starting out. It covers all the basics. The negative: most of this information can be found on YouTube. We all know to warm up, be physically fit, and that foot work rules the game. Nothing new here. Again, great book for those new to pickleball.
